Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia
– Physical Activity Strategy Consultation
In 2005, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia (HSFNS) chose
physical activity as a strategic priority area, and decided to develop
an integrated Physical Activity Strategy for the Foundation. As part
of the Strategy development process, the HSFNS Health Promotion Division
contracted Horizons to design and facilitate a workshop with physical
activity stakeholders. The purpose of this workshop was to gather initial
stakeholder feedback to help guide HSFNS in the development of a Physical
Activity Strategy that would be useful for its stakeholders. Horizons
developed a series of stakeholder consultation questions, facilitated
the consultation discussion, and analyzed a consultation priority-setting
exercise. A consultation report was developed that highlighted key results
and recommendations that emerged from the workshop session.
